Ares - The Calm Sofa
Ares, named after the ancient Greek god renowned for his strength and courage, lives up to its name in both design and craftsmanship. Created by Jens Juul Eilersen, the Ares sofa is as strong in construction as it is bold in its simplicity—a perfect union of elegance and understated design.
With its sublime comfort, Jens Juul Eilersen has once again merged luxurious softness with the distinctive Eilersen DNA. The vision behind Ares was to make beautiful design feel effortless. The sofa is made up of just seven elements, each measuring 96 x 96 cm, except for a complementary footstool, which is 64 cm deep but matches the 96 cm width of the other modules.
Jens Juul Eilersen explains a key development detail:
"During the design process, we created a new version where the base is a chaise longue, seamlessly connected to other elements. You can choose a depth of either 160 cm or 170 cm, offering generous space to fully unwind. Whether with or without a chaise longue, both configurations maintain a harmonious, calm appearance."
Elegant, rounded armrests complete the sofa, blending well-being, comfort, and striking design in a beautifully simple way.
To celebrate Eilersen’s 130th anniversary in 2025, the Ares sofa has been chosen as our official anniversary model and is beautifully upholstered in the exclusive Roth fabric, adding a subtle yet sophisticated texture to its timeless design.

Founded in 1895, Eilersen has focused on craftsmanship, quality, and innovation.
The journey began producing coaches, and since the 1930s, Eilersen has been making beautiful, high-quality couches based on the same traditional values of excellent craftsmanship and innovation, that founded the company almost 130 years ago.
This has made Eilersen a well-known and recognized high-end brand internationally.
